Scenario: Netflix HK are currently looking to strengthen their library of factual programmes available on their platform. They’ve had some incredible success with Netflix originals such as Queer Eye, Hasan Minaj, and Fyre Festival. 

 

The head of acquisitions at Netflix has little to no knowledge of factual programmes and is busy negotiating the rights to retain Disney owned content since the  launch of Disney+ in HK. They also are also curious about acquiring news programmes and eventually producing their own new, which is entirely new territory for Netflix.

 

The head of acquisitions has no option but to delegate this task to you, a  fresh-faced Netflix HK intern. You will research issues relating to factual programmes and their codes and conventions. You will compile a concise report for the head of acquisitions so they can make informed decisions on what to pursue the streaming rights for.
